By Peter KönigThe Bianconeri’s summer departures from Luca Pirlos and Andrea Marcello are now expected to leave a hole in the team.
The departure of Marcella and the other additions of Alessio Romagnoli, Marco Borriello and Alessandro Del Piero have left Juventus without a recognised centre-forward, with Pirlosi also leaving for Juventus.
However, the Italian giants have already started the search for another centre-half, and now the rumours are beginning to circulate about another target.
According to Sportmediaset, a Juventus source says the Biancones have already made contact with Juventus and Milan over the summer for their new centre-back options.
They have a player in mind, the source said, with a club-record fee set to be paid for the former Bayern Munich and Inter Milan player, who is currently with Juventus.
The 26-year-old was a key part of Juve’s Champions League win in May, but has been left out of the squad for the upcoming games against Lazio and Palermo.
Juventus were expected to make a major move for Pirloso after the Italian internationals impressive performances in the Champions League final against Bayern Munich, but instead they have opted to bring him to the Biancocelesti instead.
